Starting with the positives: the daycare tries its best to give a good service, its not an easy job taking care of such a big group of toddlers and babies, and the caretakers are all genuinely nice people Now the negatives and the reasons why we moved our kid somewhere else: No AC during summer/no heating during winter (my kid ends up either sweating like crazy or freezing til her nose is red and they say “you need to dress you kid warmer while their heating says 19 degrees) They take the kids to the lawn with a walkway next to metro du college and call it “park time” despite there being drunks and weirdos nearby They hire unqualified/uncertified people and bring in family members to work, some being VERY young (I’m talking “bring my young teenage niece who is on summer break to work” young) Call me old fashion but they also would bring in men to work with the kids, some who looked strange and would NEVER say hello to the parents, but somehow interact with the kids?? My kid constantly smelled like poop when she was still wearing her diaper as a young toddler (the type of smell of a kid who hadn’t gotten a diaper change ALL DAY), this caused her to constantly get rashes, and they would say this is normal, whereas at home this would never happen They didn’t start potty training until my kid was like 2 1/2 (our kids’ been walking since 10 months and they waited that long despite our efforts at home?) They would leave kids to run to the bathroom and potty BY THEMSELVES, and one time when I came to pick the kid up a littler earlier, she was standing in the bathroom (which is by the entrance btw) with her pants down with 3 other kids near her… They don’t even change the diapers of the kids in a private area its just done in front of all the other children.. My daughter would also come back home with bruises or scratches and a lot of times I would have no explanation whatsoever of what happened And the worst thing of all? One time a child accidentally found a way out of the daycare, and ran all the way next to the metro, and was only found by another parent.. And I only found out thanks to that parent who broke the news. I went and asked when were they planning on telling the parents, and the caretaker (instead of taking accountability) just says that they’re planning on setting up a meeting (that never happened). The issue is that the owner takes no accountability and is extremely unorganized. I feel like she’s too concerned with saving money, and if she wants to actually run a good daycare, she should start actually working on the flaws of the daycare instead of saving face and trying to seem like everything is ok.
